Preparing
for Trekking / Climbing : Preparing
for Himalayan trekking/ climbing is utmost necessary
and vital. Many people suffer health problems
when they land in Himalayas due to ignorance or
over confidence. If you are new to high altitude
activities like trekking, climbing and high altitude
camping then do tell us while corresponding with
us and follow the instructions carefully. All
you are expected to do is- not to have a show
off attitude & understand nature and high
altitude.
1.
Jogging & proper exercise: Trekking/Climbing
in Himalayas requires a certain level of fitness
as human body goes under lot of metabolic changes
while gaining altitudes in Himalayas. Consult
your family doctor if you are having any health
problem. We would not encourage people having
epilepsy, heart ailments, arthritis, renal problems
to undertake Himalayan treks, climbs but certainly
one can enjoy nature and its uniqueness in camping
as you do not ascend altitudes and further you
can contact us regarding your personal performances.
Still, we would advice you that consulting your
physician will be best , if you are having any
health problem. Medical facilities are at very
distant places (may be approx. 400-500 kms. away). So,
proper physical fitness is utmost important for
taking Himalayan treks/climbs. * Experienced climbers
knows what I am talking about. |
2.
Equipment & Medicine:
Basic medicine is second most important thing
which you should pack in your sack while boarding
for India. Any questions? contact us.... support@himadventure.com
3.
Clear communication : Do communicate in as much
detail as possible, with us. In past , we have seen
sudden change of plans, peak, travel arrangements &
need of equipment. Do remember, things goes in very
slow manner in India, many sites boasts of " quick
services" but by now you might be knowing that
most them are false, lies and they charge you too much
for them. Best way to have a comfortable tie up with
any , with any agency-do as much communication as possible.
Tell us , what are your requirements, plans. Remember,
you can not see Himalayas or India, in one visit. This
is a huge Mountain Range / country with lot, lot of
variations of cultures, people, languages, life styles,
geographical & topographical differences. So, be
in contact with us TODAY !
When
you come to Himalayas
1. Do
not abuse/hate Himalayan village people. Their culture
and rituals may look odd/ unrational to you but they
are very deeply concerned with them and are proud of
what they are.
2. All
Himalayan ranges holds significant religious importance
for one and all in India. Please do not drink/smoke/wear
shoes in sacred places/touch people/take photographs
of religious building or priest/Body exposure/ romantic
passes in public places/ * Exposing money and ornaments
&Bribing.
3.
Do not buy/sell/use drugs. This had been seen that people
indulge themselves in smoking'grass' and other usage
of drugs. You may land up in prison for such activities.
4. While
you are in Himalayas, try not to adopt a attitude of
show off. No one can prove mightier than mother nature.
Please remember Trekking, Climbing, Camping, Jeep Safari,
Motor Biking, Skiing and Cycling are not competitive
sports. We do not encourage races and 'who first' attitude.
5. Better
get all your bookings done in advance. It may be peak,
inner line permit, guest house, railway or air reservation-
DO NOT IMAGINE to get things been done when you most
urgently wanted them. Better get all your paper work
completed before you land up in Delhi. In case you require
any of above mentioned services-contact us as soon as
possible. You do not have to pay huge advances.
6. Never
take pictures/movies of army installations/buildings/army
convoy/army people. India share it's borders with Pakistan,
Bangla Desh and China and taking pictures knowingly-unknowingly
may land you in big trouble which can be detention or
imprisonment or both. ( Applicable to Indians also )
Traveling
India
You can
not see India, in one visit. This is a huge country
with lot of variation. Plan your travel according to
your vocation, budget and liking. Contact us TODAY !
if you require any help in planning. Write a email-with
as much detail as possible.
1.
Get proper Info:
Do
remember that India is a huge country with colors
of Desert, lush beaches, high mountains, and thousand
miles of planes. We have seen that travelers study
a lot of material but do not understand geography
of region they are visiting. Before departing
from your home country, you should be sure about
area, climate and brief description about people
and life there. We would suggest you to read about
India or ask US for recent developments and info
about that area. We will provide you info, even
if you are not booking with us. So, do not hesitate
to write at:

2.
Packaging:
While packing, take care of weight you are carrying-check
out with your airline. Add some medicines for general
purpose in a small kit bag. Weather in India differs
dramatically from region to region. While it will be
10 degree in mountains, plains may be burning with 45-47
degree centigrade. Beaches are moist in July-August.
So, choose your time according to area you wish to visit.
There is no idea in thinking to visit mountain states
in mid-June TO last July. Heavy rains usually make landslides
and sometimes roads are blacked for hrs. If not days.
So,pack according to your plan.
3.
Money:
Carrying travelers
cheques is most easy and safe choice rather than carrying
hard cash. International Credit Card is also a added
advantage in modern times. India has developed it self
into one of the fastest upcoming technology giants although
corruption and laziness is way of life in office works. |
